XNA 3.0 CTP is here

Finally the CTP we've all been waiting for is here. You can now pick it up here and start developing for Windows, Xbox 360 and Zune (if you're lucky enough to own one). Another great news with this is that it supports Visual Studio 2008. It's time to see if I can finally uninstall Visual Studio 2005.

Xbox 360 development and deployment is not supported by this CTP, unfortunately.

Anyhow.. More details can be found here.

Why should XNA devnet membership cost so much in addidtion to XBL which In Australia (where we pay exorbitant prices fro consoles/games etc) only to find M.S hasn't rolled out a single server (I could build you a server the cost of <12 months membership to pay another fee to use the supposedly free internet!!)

If M.S want to foster fair competition O.L then they might consider spending some(eg 60,000USD) of the billions they clearly saved on call centre/hardware etc..

I just wanted to start developing on XNA 3.0 with all pre-reqs only to find I have to pay 129$aud on my 360 yet I will then have to wait for 360 support as zune(on it's own) doesn't  interest me for the time being. All the while we pay ten times the amount to have considerably degraded gaming experience frequently interrupted as larger packets become fragmented...Less gathering only to be timmed-out. Anyway enough of my rant,
